Vivian's Walnut Date Cookies

Bob went over his Mom's house yesterday and she was baking up some goodies for Lodge. She made us a plate. Well, usually when she does that, it means they are for Bob :) (he takes them with him!)-- however, this time because they were date pinwheel cookes with walnuts, Bob said that I could take them to work!! I brought them to the office and sent an email out to my Division to come and enjoy those yummy cookies.
Here are some of the email replies that I received for your cookies, Vivian--
Kaplan, Irwin Sent Subject: Yum
I’m so happy your husband doesn’t like walnuts. The cookies are delicious and went beautifully with my morning tea.Thank you!
From: James, Renda Subject: walnut date cookies
Hi Tamara-Wow! Very delicious. Can I possibly get the recipe? Renda Sal Alvarez emailed me that your cookies were Bangin! (whatever that means, it's good)!! Eva Klinger said they were "marvelous"
I told staff that if we keep RAVING we might get more in the future!! Of course, I am sure the Pin High gang feels the same way!! So, Vivian these thank you's are for you!
With Love from Tamara R. & (with appreciation from The Redevelopment Agency).

You were betting on ME!!??

Do you remember this picture of Grammy Dody and Grandpa-man from 1998? Grammy is holding a big bottle of wine with a smile of victory on her face. Grandpa is pointing to the bottle of wine with a grimace on his face.

The BET--

I Guess there was a bet on who I was going to marry. I was dating Ramon at the time and somehow a bet started between Grammy and Grandpa as to weather or not we would get married. Grandpa thought we would and Grammy didn't think so. Yah Grammy!

I am glad that grandpa lost that bet!

I am sad that Grandpa didn't get to know Garth better. If he had, He definably would have been on TEAM GARTH!!

Mom's Pet Chicken "DOROTHY"

Did you guys know that Mom, (Grandma), never had any dolls or teddy bears when she was growing up. She had a pet CHICKEN, named DOROTHY. She told me just last week that whe would put her pet chicken in her red wagan and take her on walks in the farm pasture. I asked her, "Did the chicken stay in the wagan?" She said, " It did after I put her head under her wing and spun her around a few times." I can just see her first catching Dorothy, then putting her head under her wing and spinning her around enough to daze and confuse the "Pollo Loco.". I encourage all of you guys and gals to put on your thinking caps and make this little surprise for Mom a real treasure for her. ERIC- you and grandpa hiding in the houses we were looking to buy. ANGIE, oh angie there are just too many incidents of mass destruction, TAMARA, oh the "Dipstick". Mark and Lisa you too. And Richard, oh Richard, "Mom always liked you best." NOT! Have some fun with this and remember all you can, we need to fill a book. Thanks again, BOB.

The Beginning

We have started a blog to pay tribute to Grandma Vivian! We would like everyone to post stories and memories (don't forget the photos!) that we can compile in a book for Grandma's 80th Birthday. So, on that note, let the good times roll!
